But before I do, little update on what fun stuff I did on my holidays (you don’t want to hear about the boring school work, gardening or work on the house I had to do).

Yesterday I popped over to Jasmine’s for a belated birthday lunch. It was meant to be at a dayspa, but they really couldn’t get their act together, so we ate cupcakes, drank iced tea and had a good time.

I’m so tired today because we went to Weddings, Parties, Anything last night. We try to avoid school night gigs- but as it was backing into a student free day, we thought this one might be ok. My body’s telling me otherwise. It was a fantastic gig, with support from the gorgeous harmonies of Women in Docs, and the intensity of Ron Hawkins. I could make a few comments about the crowd- most of whom had clearly seen the Weddoes in their original form and some of who really had little clue what they were doing (it’s Sunday night people, you are clearly not 20 anymore); but that would be petty. The band were great. I’ve only ever seen them once before and once again I reckon they are the hardest working folk bands. We left the Zoo at 12.30 and they still hadn’t finished their encore.

BTW- note to self, there was a reason you used to wear boots to gigs: tough and instep and ankle support. I’m paying for it today- let me tell you.
